Making My First Sale

Making My First Sale

Making my first sale this year was the most exciting experience I have had in a long time.

The first real opportunity for me to make and sell some leather products since launching my business, The Lady Saddler in September, was at Christmastime.

Christmas 2016

Being a full time working mum and wife, whilst attending saddler training, every three months has meant I already had a lot to do. So, I didn’t want to over-stretch myself and get bogged down even more.

Along with some leather repair work, that I took on in October and November; I decided to start making some made-to-measure belts and magic braided bracelets.

Belts for sale

The belts were hand-stitched and embellished with a chrome or brass buckle. They were also available in either black or brown Sedgwick’s leather.

Bracelets for sale

The braided bracelets, I made, were in black or brown Sedgwick’s leather. Finished off using a brass, chrome or black press studs.

At first, I was nervous to send the items. Then I received some really good feedback which helped my confidence to grow.

Now, that my confidence is growing I feel I can develop a bag design I’d like to explore further.

I think it will initially be an ideal riding accessory. As well as a stylish everyday equestrian’s bag, so something for you to all look out for.

Feel free to take a look at the bags I have available for sale in the Lady Saddler’s online shop.
